Nanjing Fuzimiao (Chinese: 南京夫子庙) or Fuzimiao (Chinese: 夫子庙; literally: ‘Confucian Temple’), is located in southern Nanjing City on banks of the Qinhuai River.Throughout its history, the temple along with the around area has been a place for study of Confucianism. Nanjing is one of China’s most important cities for over a thousand years, is recognized as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China and capital of Jiangsu province

- There are many different types of lanterns, some of lanterns resemble giant dogs, dragons, flowers and much more
- In the past, bamboo strips were used as the framework of the lanterns, paper as the covering, and candles as the lighting
- Now, lantern are made by steel, silk, and LED lights for safe and durable purposes
- Lantern is one of the famous traditional art forms in China
- It exists in Chinese history for a very long time
- Lantern festival also reminds people to remember those traditional buildings from which the lanterns hang
- In the Fuzimiao, Qinhuai River flows through it
- Taking the painted boats to cruise on the Qinhuai River, people can see 50 to 60 original village sites have been found on the banks
- Visitors can also see a combination of historical sites, gardens, painted boats, streets and folk customs
- By taking the boats, people can experience the traditional culture of Nanjing
- Visitors can take boats at different wharfs along the river (there is Panchi Wharf, located in front of Dacheng Hall of Confucius Temple, Wuding Gate Wharf, Wharf of Kuixing Ge, and Stone City Wharf)
- On the boat, people can enjoy Chinese traditional music performed by boat girls and boys with Gu Qin while they are eating local snacks
